As your Dental Hygienist, my sole purpose and goal is to provide exceptional care to my patients. Each individual patient is a priority, their needs and access to care are paramount. Every patient’s situation is not cookie cutter and relies on assessments in an individualized manner. Providing exceptional care, no matter who the patient is, is a virtue. At Gentle Dental Care, we serve a diversity of patients from veterans to immigrants to your middle-class worker. Each patient is important to us and providing the best optimal care is what drives me every day.
My healthcare journey in dentistry started 17 years ago. I began my career working with the developmentally disabled. It was during this time that I developed relationships and bonds with my patients. I came to realize that this population group is no different than any other population group. Developmentally disabled individuals deserve dental care at the same capacity as every individual. I developed a deep love and affinity for this population. In previous years, I provided healthcare services to individuals under Medicaid. The underserved, pregnant and children population have a great need in this country. Participating in a system that acknowledges disparities and meets people where they are is rewarding. Over the years, I have volunteered both locally and globally on mission trips. During these mission trips I was able to provide healthcare services to underserved populations through programs such as the Medical Mission of Mercy, the MOM Project, Smiles for Children, and local free dental clinics.
The love and deep desire I have to provide healthcare and education to people of all types of populations has translated throughout my career. As I tell my patients daily, prevention is key. One of the biggest proponents of prevention is education and access to care. I feel a sense of obligation to be a part of making oral health better and more accessible for everyone. I am pleased to be a part of Gentle Dental Care as your Dental Hygienist, continuing my love for providing healthcare services for every population I serve.
